Study Background

A national RCT focused on nutrition, gut health and prostate cancer.

This study evaluated the impact of an intervention designed to improve gut health, increase vitamin D, and boost phytochemical-rich food intake among men with prostate cancer.

The trial was approved by the UK national Ethics committee with IRAS number 321309 and internationally registered under ISRCTN: 81939514. It started in September 2023 and completed in September 2024.

To improve gut health, the scientific committee chose the YourGutPlus+ blend because of its track record for safety and effectiveness.

The study aimed to evaluate whether the intervention could influence:

  • PSA progression
  • MRI changes over time
  • Prostate-related urinary symptoms
  • Erectile function
  • Systemic inflammation markers
  • Grip strength and other markers of longevity
Cohort + Method

Who participated and how the study was conducted.

Cohort

Method

Following written informed consent, all 220 participating men were given the phytochemical-rich food supplement and asked to stop all other over-the-counter supplements.
