Your-Phyto FAQs

How does Your-Phyto work?

This unique capsule contains a novel blend of six phytochemical-rich foods known to work in synergy to support multiple fundamental pathways in the body, including inflammation balance, gut health through prebiotic effects, and antioxidant enzyme support.

What did the clinical trial show?

In the national scientific trial, Your-Phyto reduced markers of chronic inflammation, which correlated with reduced PSA progression in men with prostate cancer and favorable changes on MRI. It also improved urinary symptoms, erectile function and overall strength.

The trial showed benefit when Your-Phyto was taken on its own, but the level of benefit was significantly better when combined with YourGutPlus+.

The trial involved men on active surveillance. Can it help men with other stages of prostate cancer?

The trial involved men not taking ADT because this was the most reliable group to determine whether these nutritional strategies helped. There is no theoretical reason why this supplement could not help other stages of prostate cancer, and some symptoms may be helped by improving gut health and phytochemical intake, especially if taking hormones or after radiotherapy.

Examples include hot flashes, joint pains, low mood and urinary symptoms. A further trial looking at whether a combination of Your-Phyto and YourGutPlus+ could prolong the duration of hormonal control is planned.

Can Your-Phyto be used by men on Zoladex, prostate or other hormonal treatments?

There are no listed contraindications in the supplied content, and since the trial ended, many men taking a wide variety of hormonal treatments have used it without reported adverse reactions. Some men have reported improvements in joint pains, hot flashes and mood.

There is also emerging data suggesting that deterioration in gut health could contribute to resistance to ADT; this is an area planned for future research.

Can Your-Phyto be used by women?

Yes. The content states that it is safe for women to take and has no phyto-estrogenic effects, so it should not adversely affect hormone levels. A previous Japanese study involving women with menopausal symptoms showed that these ingredients helped reduce hot flashes and improve joint pains and mood.

Can I take turmeric-containing products with blood thinners?

In a 2013 trial and the more recent 2024 trial, many men were taking a variety of blood thinners, including warfarin, apixaban, rivaroxaban and dabigatran, and no problems were reported.

It would still be sensible to look out for signs of excess bleeding, not exceed the recommended daily amount of Your-Phyto, and ask your doctor to measure clotting levels if you are unsure.

Can Your-Phyto be taken by diabetics?

Yes. The content states that it can be taken by diabetics. It also notes that some research suggests certain ingredients, including pomegranate, may help lower excess glucose levels.

Does Your-Phyto have to be taken with food?

It does not really matter, but in the small number of users who reported mild indigestion, symptoms disappeared when they took it with food.

Can broccoli extracts affect the thyroid?

There are rare case reports that broccoli may contribute to lower thyroxine levels, but this was only in the presence of marked iodine deficiency. If your diet includes some seafood, onions, nuts and seeds, this is unlikely to be the case.

If concerned, consider speaking with your healthcare professional about iodine status or a mineral supplement that includes iodine.

Can I take Your-Phyto if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

There is no evidence that turmeric, broccoli, pomegranate or green tea adversely affects pregnancy, although the safety of these supplements in pregnancy and lactation has not been established.

Please check with your healthcare professional before using while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does Your-Phyto interact with other drugs?

Like some fruit juices, pomegranate has a theoretical interaction with certain drugs because very large doses may interfere with the liver enzyme Cytochrome P450, which helps break down certain medications.

Potential interactions may include amitriptyline, codeine, desipramine, flecainide, fluoxetine, ondansetron, tramadol, amlodipine, diltiazem, verapamil, fentanyl, midazolam, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril and statins.

The content notes that the risk with the amount of pomegranate in this supplement is very low. If taking these drugs and you experience unexpectedly low blood pressure or increased side effects, speak with your GP. Individuals on warfarin may be advised to repeat an INR test within two weeks of starting Your-Phyto.

Could Your-Phyto only affect PSA and not the underlying disease?

Although PSA has limitations as a screening tool, many doctors view PSA velocity or doubling time as a useful surrogate for disease status in response to treatment. In the study, PSA levels had a 100% correlation with underlying changes on MRI.

None of the ingredients have hormone-like properties, so it is considered extremely unlikely that the supplement affects only PSA and not the underlying disease process.

Can Your-Phyto be taken with hormones, abiraterone, enzalutamide or apalutamide?

The content states that there are no reported interactions clinically. Because Your-Phyto has prebiotic properties, there may be theoretical advantages, although you should always confirm supplement use with your oncology team.

Can Your-Phyto be taken with chemotherapy and radiotherapy?

There are unsubstantiated comments that phytochemical-rich foods such as turmeric can interfere with chemotherapy. Some laboratory studies using cells in petri dishes suggest that high doses may have antioxidant activity that could theoretically reduce chemotherapy action.

However, the supplied content notes that most studies show the opposite. Examples cited include curcumin combined with docetaxel showing greater inhibition of proliferation and induction of apoptosis than either alone, turmeric showing synergistic benefits with chemotherapy in breast cancer, and turmeric potentially improving response to cisplatin chemotherapy.

Always discuss supplement use with your oncology team before starting during chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

What is the difference between Phyto-V and Your-Phyto?

These are different supplements researched in separate major national trials. In each trial they showed benefit on their own, and effectiveness was enhanced when combined with YourGutPlus+.

Phyto-V showed benefit for long Covid, while Your-Phyto was studied for prostate cancer, urinary symptoms, strength and erectile function.

Could Your-Phyto be used by men without cancer to improve urinary symptoms and erectile function?

The effect on symptoms was independent of the effect on cancer, so the content states it is worth trying, especially as these foods are generally healthy.

What is the difference between Your-Phyto and Pomi-T?

Your-Phyto has four ingredients that overlap with Pomi-T, the supplement used in an older 2013 trial from the same research group. However, Your-Phyto is substantially different.

It has been upgraded with two new ingredients that independently demonstrated benefits for men with prostate cancer and helped improve urinary symptoms. It has also been fortified with extracts from the same plants, boosting levels of candidate phytochemicals, and uses recent food technology techniques to measure and standardize key phytochemicals.

Can Your-Phyto be used for other cancers?

Your-Phyto does not work via a hormonal route. It harnesses natural properties of phytochemicals and may synergistically enhance gut health with YourGutPlus+. These factors are relevant for people with many types of cancer.

Anyone with cancer should discuss supplement use with their oncology team.

Why do some capsules look slightly different in color?

Because the capsules are made from whole, natural food ingredients, there can be natural variation in color. For example, chlorophyll levels in broccoli can make some capsules appear a little greener than others.

This is completely normal and does not affect quality or effectiveness. Every batch is carefully standardized to ensure it contains the same key nutrients and delivers the same benefits as those studied in clinical research.
